Understanding MdDS

I provide specialised support for individuals affected by Mal de Débarquement syndrome, helping them regain balance and peace. Symtoms for sufferers include rocking, bobbing or swaying, dizziness, confusion, difficulty focusing, fatigue, mood changes, anxiety and depression. These sometimes debilitating symptoms are often triggered by travel by boat, plane, train or car and can also be triggered or made worse by stressful life events such as surgery, childbirth or head trauma.

I have had MdDS for about 4 months now, that came from being on a 10 day cruise. I found that in the beginning doing vestibular exercises (I did on my own through youtube ) helped me to learn to walk and move with the MdDS. Though I did feel some improvement, I was still very frustrated with how I was feeling and nothing seemed to help (I tired lot of meds, acupuncture, reiki, ect) Eventually I reached out to a wonderful man named Stephen Williamson who worked with me using hypnotherapy and NLP techniques to decrease my symptoms. I was a bit hesitant at first, but within 1 minute of meeting him (through zoom) I felt comfortable, heard, and a true connection to wanting to help ease the pain I had been experiencing. The following morning after our first session together I felt my symptoms decrease exponentially. On a scale of 1-10 of MdDS symptoms I started at a 10, vestibular exercise got me to a 6, and Stephen got me to a 3, and now at a 1. Though my MdDS symptoms are not currently gone, I am in a space where I feel at ease and know my symptoms are on their way out.
